Dynamo Electric was established by commercial electrician Wendel Towes in 2005 to serve the growing requirements of industrial and agricultural businesses in central Alberta.

Soon earning a reputation as a full service design, planning and implementation electrical contractor, Dynamo partnered with PRIVA controls in 2005 as a dealer and installer of greenhouse horticulture and building automation controls.

Safety & Protocols

Dynamo Electric adheres to three electrical codes now in force in Alberta. These codes are updated regularly in order to protect electrical workers and to make electrical installation and maintenance safer.

  • CSA- C22.1-15 – Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 — provides the minimum safety standards for the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.

  • Code for Electrical Installations at Oil and Gas Facilities – 5th Edition, 2015 — applies to electrical installations used in the search, transmission or production of oil, natural gas and related hydrocarbons, and provides area classification guidelines

  • Alberta Electrical Utility Code – 5th Edition, 2016 — provides the minimum safety standard for the installation and maintenance of electrical utility systems in Alberta
